Blog 89: Then You Will Know That I Am YHWH
When God called Abram out of Ur of the Chaldees to the Land of Canaan, He promised that his descendants would inherit the land He would give them after four hundred years of affliction by foreign people. His identity as the creating deity lay in bringing Israel out from foreign oppression at a precise moment (see Blog 36’s Appendix 44 attachment). That YHWH brought Israel out of Egypt exactly on the same day and time four hundred years later proved He was God and Creator. When He brought Israel out of enslavement by signs and wonders, destroying those who tried to destroy them, He made a name for Himself before the nations and their gods that only He was God, and there was no other. Yet for Israel to dwell with a holy God in the Land, His people needed to be purified and healed so all nations would know that YHWH alone is God.
Pertaining to the timing of Israel’s restoration, the promises given to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob were acted out in Hezekiah’s life by God turning back the sundial ten degrees and giving the king fifteen more years after a third day raising him up to worship at the temple (see Blog 17: Mark of Restoration). When and how the nation enters the land is stamped with Jacob’s years on the lunar calendar’s seven months of light and the Jubilee cycle. Jacob (Israel) lived 147 years, dying in Egypt. His sons buried him in Canaan as an act of faith that they would possess the land. Iyar 1 through Tishri 1 bears the stamp of Jacob’s lifetime and YHWH’s promise of Israel’s jubilee restoration in two 15-jubilee cycles, equaling 1470 years. Significant in history, Iyar 1 was the day God numbered the families of Israel at Mount Sinai (Num. 1:1), the month King Solomon began building YHWH’s house (1Ki. 6:1) and rebuilding began on Zerubbabel’s temple after the Babylonian captivity (Ezr. 3:8). And it was the Seed of the woman planted in exiled humanity (meaning of Zerubbabel) who would finish the House of God (Zec. 4:9), bringing all humanity to salvation, knowing He is YHWH.
Isa. 52:6-10 NKJV
6 Therefore My people shall know My name;
Therefore they shall know in that day
That I am He who speaks:
‘Behold, it is I.'”
7 How beautiful upon the mountains
Are the feet of him who brings good news,
Who proclaims peace,
Who brings glad tidings of good things,
Who proclaims salvation,
Who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!”
8 Your watchmen shall lift up their voices,
With their voices they shall sing together;
For they shall see eye to eye
When YHWH brings back Zion.
9 Break forth into joy, sing together,
You waste places of Jerusalem!
For YHWH has comforted His people,
He has redeemed Jerusalem.
10 YHWH has made bare His holy arm
In the eyes of all the nations;
And all the ends of the earth shall see
The salvation of our God.
As Matthew’s Gospel shows, Yeshua was the perfection of what Israel was to be, and it is He who destroys humanity’s enemies with His strong arm and brings us back to dwell with Him on His mountain. He was the new Moses prophesied to come, in whom we are baptized, justified, sanctified, and glorified. Yeshua said, “When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He and that I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things” (Jhn. 3:28). He is the Creator God who speaks, making order out of chaos through His sacrifice, creating a Sabbath sacred space in which He shares His throne, His will and wisdom in partnership with us. He will stop humanity’s hiding and running away from Him into the arms of death by leading us to walk with Him on the path to life at the appointed time so that we will intimately know His name.
The ten generations of Adam listed in Genesis 5, containing 365 words, and the 365 years Enoch lived and did not die connect to the four things the day of Yom Teruah will be for us, with a sum of 2467, the 365th prime (see Blog 83 Fun Factors), a “third-day” resurrection and being caught up to meet Yeshua coming in the clouds, changed from mortal to immortality (1Th. 4:16-18; 1Co. 15:50-54). The ten generations foretell of Abraham, through whom all the nations are blessed by the Messiah’s building God’s House with living stones through the Spirit via the matrix of the holyday timeline. Like the four hundred (40 × 10) years of affliction followed by deliverance, the holydays are signs that YHWH will do the things He has spoken, creating a family to live, not in the ways of death, but in the ways of life (righteousness and justice). When He gathers His people to Him, like in the first exodus, His name will be known again in all the earth. As in Genesis 1, He will purify His people (Zion) and the surrounding nations from unrighteousness until all the earth is holy and fit for His dwelling. The trumpets blown on the days of our gladness, on His appointed feasts and new moons, over our living sacrifices, are holy and pleasing to God, worshiping Him (Rom. 12:1). “As we come to the Living Stone, we like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ” (1Pe. 2:4-5). He who laid the Temple foundation, the Chief Cornerstone, will also finish it (Zec. 4:9).
Takeaway:
The Creator God spoke, creating ordered spaces and filling them with living things. He created the Sabbath, a holy space in time, and filled it with humans to rule with Him forever. After humanity’s exile from life, the Creator rescued us with the power of His right hand, overcame our sinful rebellion, healed our blindness, purified us from decay, and became our salvation. We will know that He is YHWH by our exodus out of death. It is His name to bring us back to holiness.
Fun Factors:
The numbers associated with humanity’s not knowing God and the need to be made clean and healed via judgment and restoration are strewn throughout the Bible. The flood in Noah’s day came with 40 days of rain/judgment, during which God cleansed the earth. Noah entered the ark on the 17th of the second month and exited on the 27th of the second month, a year later. Moses spent 40 days fasting on Mount Sinai twice to restore the laws of God to His people. Elijah did the same on the way to Horeb (1Ki. 19:8). Israel wandered 40 years in the wilderness until the generation of rebellious persuasion died, and for 40 years, the Philistines oppressed Israel. For 40 days, Ezekiel laid on his side, depicting God’s judgment of Judah (Eze. 4:6). Nineveh repented in 40 days (Jon. 3:4). Jesus spent 40 days fasting in the desert and, after His resurrection, lived 40 days until He ascended in the clouds. Israel’s 40 × 10 years of affliction depicts a time of wilderness suffering when YHWH creates His people and makes His name known to them, ultimately to return to Him.
Isaiah 49:23’s “And you will know that I am YHWH” has 14 letters in 4 words, totaling 607, the 111th prime, 111 = 3 x 37, which numerically says the certainty (3) of YHWH’s names (37). The total 607 in Hebrew thought is 67 (the 19th prime) with a zero in the middle, indicating fullness or completion related to the Metonic 19-year time cycle (12 common years, 7 leap years) of appointed time.
Isaiah 49:23 has 85 letters in 20 words, totaling 5363, 31 x 173; 31 is El, and 173 is the 40th prime. The digit product of 5363 is 270, and the digit sum is 17, the same numbers in the Noachian flood epic, the 17, 27, and 40 of Elohim leading us to a new birth, a new beginning of humanity’s generations.
