Blog 64: Walking with God
In Blog 10 and Blog 15, we unearthed a profound revelation in Genesis 5’s ten generations. Enoch and Noah, through their unique actions, disrupted the word pattern of “and he died” (Gen. 5:24) and “After he begot …, … lived … years, and begot sons and daughters” (Gen. 9:28). These authorial disruptions in pattern serve as a beacon, emphasizing a crucial focus. Enoch, unlike the others, did not die but was taken by God. The flood narrative, a pivotal event of passing through the waters, was included in Noah’s genealogy data, symbolizing the rebirth of his sons. What these two men had in common was their extraordinary relationship with God. They “walked with God” (Gen. 5: 24; 6:9). Enoch (sum 84), the 7th, and Noah (sum 58), the 10th, total 142, 2 × 71, completed (tamim, letter sum 490, 10 × 72) the generations of Adam, leaving a significant prophecy in biblical history.
Another intriguing observation was that the sum of the ten generations years, 8575, factored as 175 × 72, pointed to Abraham. Abraham lived 175 years and walked with God (72), faithfully obeying His voice and keeping His charge, His commandments, statutes, and laws (Gen. 26:4-5). God’s promise to Abraham that through him, all the nations of the earth would be blessed is a testament to his significance as the father of many nations. Abraham and Sarah’s lives were the rock from which those who seek YHWH and follow after righteousness are hewn and created (Isa. 51:1-2). Through Abraham came the Messiah, and all those who believe in Yeshua walk by faith like Abraham, becoming the children of Abraham (Rom. 9:6-8) and heirs according to the promises (Gal. 3:29). Abraham’s foundational story is a standard for all sons of God of all generations.
Rom 8:13-14
13 For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.Gal 3:26-29
For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Correspondingly, ancient Israel’s baptism unto Moses and their weighty yet crucial trials during the seven Sabbaths in the wilderness were invaluable to becoming a holy firstborn nation bearing YHWH’s name to the world. Walking the seven weeks in the wilderness prepared Israel to meet her God at Mount Sinai as a holy nation of priests. Generated out of the Days of Unleavened Bread, the count of fifty days or seven Sabbaths (72) is a liminal time in which His elect firstfruits learn to live in the will and power of YHWH. This blog will delve into the dynamics of walking with God, led by the Spirit, so our hearts turn back to Him.
YHWH saved Israel from Egyptian bondage solely by the power of His outstretched hand, yod (10), making His name great among the nations. By the death of Egypt’s firstborn and God’s delivering grace, Israel became free to obey, serve, and worship Him—signaled by the nation walking out of Egypt without a fight on the same date and time YHWH confirmed the covenant with Abraham. Through God’s power over the enemy and His purchase of Israel, along with Israel’s obedience and faith in her Warrior Deliverer, fifty-three days later, Israel worshiped YHWH before the mountain of God on Pentecost. Seventy-four (2·37) of Israel’s elders ate and drank with YHWH on Mount Sinai. It heralded YHWH’s mighty power to the nations, saying He was the only living God.
Israel left Egypt’s bondage exclusively at YHWH’s command. They experienced YHWH in their seven-day flight across the Sinai Peninsula and through the Yam Suph crossing. He guided, provided, and instructed Israel so they might know Him only as their God, for they still held to the ways of Egypt and needed to embrace the Master of Life as He stripped away their old way of living. During Israel’s wilderness liminal trek, YHWH offers Himself to them, asking them to commit to and trust Him. His plan was for them to become a light, a living fountain, to the nations because of what He did with them. Israel needed a teacher. YHWH gave them Moses, who talked with Him face to face, to school them in the way and point to a new Moses they must listen to.
YHWH will establish you as a holy people to Himself, just as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of YHWH your God and walk in His ways.10 Then all peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of YHWH, and they shall be afraid of you. (Deu. 28:9–10, NKJV)
5 Commit (galil) your way to YHWH,
Trust also in Him,
And He shall bring it to pass.
6 He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light,
And your justice as the noonday. (Psalm 37:5–6, NKJV)
Takeaway:
The generations of Adam pointed to a way not to die, a way of rebirth in the spirit realm resulting from walking with God. Israel’s walk of seven Sabbaths through a wilderness turned their ear to hear YHWH’s law through Moses. Our lives of walking by faith according to the Spirit through the wilderness of this world turn our ears to hear Yeshua’s righteousness. It is by His spirit power moving in our lives that create us completely (tamim), establishing us as a holy people walking in the knowledge of God on His holy mountain, the navel of the earth.
Fun Factors:
The two verses disrupting the pattern of Genesis 5 have significant number values.
Gen. 5:24, “And Enoch walked with God; And he was not, for God took him,” has 37 letters, 9 words, totaling 1831, the 282nd prime (6 × 47). By dividing 1831 into two numbers, 18 and 31, then adding them, we get 49, or 72, Yeshua’s seven-Sabbath signature in the work of His hand (47).
Gen. 5: 29, And he called his name Noah, saying, “This one will to comfort us concerning the work and the toil of our hands, because of the ground which YHWH has cursed,” has 60 letters, 15 words, totaling 3497, 13 × 269, or 361 + 3136, 192 + 562, a lunar time cycle (19) plus the day (56) of light.
The 24-word sum of Genesis 5:24, 29 is 5328, 37 × 144, 722 + 122, stating ‘Elaha’s (37) chesed (72) is entire redemption (122). The sum of 126 + … + 162 is 5328; 126 = 42 + … + 72, the seven-Sabbath walk with Yeshua, and 162 is 92 + 92, 81 + 81, to a new beginning through judgment. 53 + 28 = 81.
Genesis 5’s genealogy chapter has 1397 letters (11 × 127), 365 words (5 × 73, Enoch’s years), and a sum of 109589, the 10419th prime and 5187th Pythagorean prime, 2502 + 2172. In 250 is 132 + 92, or 52 × 10, “behold the upright ten generations,” and 217 is 7 × 31, El’s ideal and the letter sum of tabbuwr, meaning those dwelling upon the exalted navel of the earth, Jerusalem (Eze. 38:12).
In Gen. 17:1, YHWH commanded Abraham to walk before Him and be blameless. The verse has 20 words totaling 5050, 50 × 101, 50(102 + 12), or 692 + 172. Its reality is shown in the square root of 5050, equaling 71, and the cube root of 5050, equaling 17; YHWH’s victory in saving all humanity.
Yeshua said in John 8:51, “Most assuredly, I say to you, if anyone keeps My word, he shall never see death,” 71 letters, 17 words, with a sum of 7180, 20·359, 359 is the 72nd prime, YHWH’s chesed, 72, in bringing us into the Sabbath, 702.
